Cast of Glee surpasses Elvis's Hot 100 Billboard record

If anyone was questioning Fox's phenomenon known as Glee, they can pretty much stop now. After only two seasons of weekly multi-song output, the cast of Glee has surpassed Elvis Presley's 108 appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a feat that can only be considered astonishing in such a short period of time. Whether they have Elvis's staying power is something that is too soon to tell, but -- at least for now -- the "King" has been dethroned by Glee's 113 appearances (as of the chart released February 17, 2011) vs. Elvis's 108.

Here are Glee's five most successful songs based on U.S. digital download sales according to Nielsen SoundScan:

#5: Somebody to Love

#4: Defying Gravity

#3: Teenage Dream

#2: Forget You (with Gwyneth Paltrow)

#1: Don't Stop Believin'
